Very rappable beat! no idea if the ringing/siren sounds are apart of the dialogue sample, but they fit just right, would suggest keeping those in if you ever keep a cut without the vocals.

Libby-Shimmz responds:

Yeah, that ringing is the sound of the plane taking off in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Or the vibes at 0:00? That's from a Dusty Fingers record.

Thanks for the love Anj! ❤️

This is really cool Lib! I like the contrast of the grungy guitar and the jazzy upright bass going along with the distorted bells/chimes.

It could potentially be shorter in the 1:44 to 3:00 section? which might make it hit harder for this adhd generation, but I otherwise can't think of anything haha! just speculation, but the structuring is done otherwise.

Sounds like it's ready for some ryhmes! :D

Thanks Anj!

Really like the sample/drum break pairing. Very good compliment.

I'd personally add some more layers in terms of samples and refrain from adding percussive elements that are higher in the frequency range (they risk being jarring when compared to the chill as f beat they're being placed with....maybe muddying up those shakers/hats that you added later on to blend better with the break?

Libby-Shimmz responds:

Yeah, for sure. I might not go back and work on this, but thanks for the tips regardless!

Aw yeah! :D

yessir!

Nice progression! I like the drop you added with the melody switch up of the flute.

Libby-Shimmz responds:

Thanks Anj! 💜

sample layering on the synth stuff you got here is great! A case where there's just enough dissonance to give it some spice. there might be some competition for frequency ranges at some parts but it works as a stylistic choice (that grungy synth that drones along in the busier sections).

Great mash up of samples and song structuring (the build up and outro are really well done imo!

Libby-Shimmz responds:

Thank you Anj!

I like the contrast of the up beat drum break and the dissonant samples, creates a beautiful vibe! Super easy to vibe with! Mix is on point!

Libby-Shimmz responds:

Thanks Anj! <3

hahaha! nailed it :D

Super impressive composition chops you've got! Makes me want to try stuff like this (any chance you have the names of some of the vsts you use?)

FJOB responds:

Of course, use the Kontakt libraries from Proyectosam: Swing & Swing More!, as well as use the metal sections of the Metropolis Ark 1 library.

yeah stoupe always went crazy with the classical music samples. Nice pairings of sound. the metal track at the end blends really well with the beat before it (great transition!)

Libby-Shimmz responds:

Thanks Anj! 💜

Yeah, pitching the sample in the track I sampled makes it sound as if it came from a movie score of some kind. I'm surprised no one has found it after 20 years...

Hey folks, another lover of music (mainly doing so through rap/singing/beats these days). Been at it for many years off and on and had just caught the bug to make fully-pledged projects as opposed to one-offs.
