So much to love about it! The minimalist drum kit over all over the crazy percussions of the sample is just perfect. I'd imagine that bass line being off of some snazzy modern jazz record, though i remember that you've found a knack for sampling your own playing.

And then there's that mysterious eastern sounding sample that seems to come from somewere alien from the original sample but layer superb like.

Love these swingy little jazzy bumps. Kind of material for a top rate beatnick emcee to black out on.

B-RadGfromOV responds:

Thanks bro. I like these kinds too. They seem to come together very naturally. Snare is actually part of the sample as well. Cool for guitar solos i think.

This is cool! that rough equalizing in their could work pretty great with whatever vocals go on top if they were equalized in the same fashion (real lofi to match it)

Awesome though! love it!

DJDureagon responds:

Thats exactly what I was going for. Real rough real gritty. I just wish it has more volume.. and im not talking about loudness.

perhaps an extra layer to add a SLAP! to the 2nd snare in each loop would bring it out a bit, without being too invasive? That said, i don't personally mind it, but can see were Dureagons coming from.

Wicked beat!

Can't hear any off notes myself. I think once you get chord intervals (what fingers your placing that 1,3,5 on) down as well as a basic jist of scales it'll be cake.

That and the basic shapes of the chords and you could start running those chords and licks up and down that sonuvabitch!

B-RadGfromOV responds:

There were some off notes but I did some removing of clunkers and adjusting. I'm gettin there, been jamming with some friends, good times!

think you just need to turn up the kick. or just put a louder/sparser one to fit in with the ones you've got there. sample work has that mystical, delicious atmosphere like usual! :D

B-RadGfromOV responds:

true. thanks man

Awesome! love the little samples flourishing about here and there! Another 2 thumbs up for that freaky flanger bit :D

BOULLIE responds:

Thank you Anjovi

Nice! I can almost feel the self restraint to just drop a bunch of layers of stuff on it but it pays off! I The open space with those little samples flourishing about is really neat!

B-RadGfromOV responds:

Haha you hit the nail on the head with that observation. It did take some restraint to not just throw everything together and loop it. Makes certain parts more special when they come in at their own designated times.

i don't think i could hear a single hiccup/stumble...I'd always be interested to hear how a gminor rapping mixtape would turn out.

B-RadGfromOV responds:

Heh now that you mention hiccups, when I said "drop the hardest hammer" i accidentally said "harnest".

:P

I been considering doing a G/BOULLIE type thing since I use his beats so much. Or maybe just newgrounds producers in general. Like to keep with the community, and it would get more people hearing their stuff.

Hey folks, another lover of music (mainly doing so through rap/singing/beats these days). Been at it for many years off and on and had just caught the bug to make fully-pledged projects as opposed to one-offs.
