this is cool man! Beats raw as fuck but i could see this having some more mainstream appeal (got that suave flow). Just needs one of those singy hooks they got on em songs, haha!

DJEPITOME responds:

rico suave

not that barren...i think all you could really fit in that mix is a bassline at this point! haha! good stuff though!

B-RadGfromOV responds:

Precisely, without the bassline it seems a little barren to me, probably the nature of the sounds I used.

heard this with brad's vocals on it! just a sweet beat man!

BOULLIE responds:

Thanks! I didn't even know he wrote to it

style reminds me of busdriver on this one. The rapping cuts it pretty close, just some little dips 0with the cadence here and there.

pitch is always going to be a bitch to get right, but with the right attitude you could get it. But to give you a small bit of feedback the 1-6 second mark sounded pretty good, but the 7-11 second mark started going flat.

I was pretty retarded in this area too, but what really helped me was when i first attempted to tune a piano (though i mainly focused on guitar after that aha! moment.). generally if you have some sort of instrument that you can practice tuning (really paying attention to how the tone resonates) this can really help you intuit what going flat and sharp is and balance it right on that right note.

B-RadGfromOV responds:

Thanks for the feedback brother, good stuff. The rapping and pitch stays cuttin it close... even as I practice. It's a tough fucking track, I don't know why I write stuff I can barely perform :P

i think it's just some really subtle ambient effect for the background even if it's super super low volume. in the high end maybe? fucking love it though! really creative mix, you could probably notch the piano down a tad to mix in a bit...just blending the piano a bit to the mix, the tones really neat!

yeah i don't think you need any more sub harmonies or shit like that just something like a wind chime or maybe a pad...i leave that to your discretion. awesome jam!

B-RadGfromOV responds:

Yeah that's a good idea, some kinda atmospheric rustle of something-or-other in the back would be good. Perhaps a tone-down of the main string-synth-sample when that's in... Oh and compressors too, forgot about those on this one. Thanks for the review and ideas brother

Hey folks, another lover of music (mainly doing so through rap/singing/beats these days). Been at it for many years off and on and had just caught the bug to make fully-pledged projects as opposed to one-offs.
