love the drums in the mix and how the samples tuck behind and float above them. Works well here :D Great soundscaping! Kinda has this Dj Muggz level to it but still has that industrial/emo (probably butchering genre references, but it's all i got lmao!) sound to it.

Great job LIbby!

libbyshimmz responds:

Thanks Anj!

Yeah, butchered them right up, haha.

I have been listening to a lot of Cypress Hill lately... 🤷🏻‍♀️

I dig it! Like an acid peak haha! Kinda nice how it rounds out some of the high end frequencies (kind of went a bit heavy on that in my latest project it seemed xD).

GhostlyDoobies responds:

hell yeah, i like all of it. i know what you mean... it does have like a acid-boombap style to it. and it do sounds good, nicely sung i mean.

haha! for some reason ng didn't put this one in my feed >.<

Bang on! Synths guitars and vocals blend as beautifully as I've heard from your recent output. Structurally, it works great as well. It doesn't come off as repetitive and that singing does a great job of giving little flourishes here and there.

Great choice for Aesop chops. Honestly could see him on this beat and i'd admittedly dig it more than alot of the beats he chooses.

I would be honored if Mister Bavits spit over this. I wonder what he would think of it, or the fact that I've adopted his bars for hooks at least 5 times now.

Thanks for the love! I'll get around to fuckin' with that a capella you sent me this afternoon too!

A nice addition to the world of abstract hiphop! Really digging the mix of the samples (that guitar panning in on the right adds some nice space to the whole thing.

While at times, it's got me pining for some additional sample for some strings/flutes/horns or something, the beat holds together real good as is.

Great job Libby!

libbyshimmz responds:

Thanks Anj!

Nice build up! makes me want to play piano :D
I wonder if it'd be worth fine-tuning the mechanical sound on the piano (sounds like it's turned up a bit high to be natural? I could be wrong, but my instinct would be to notch it down a little bit. This is assuming you're using a vst haha!)...that said it does add some character of it's own and could even be emphasized to make it stand out more depending on taste xD

anyways, good stuff man!

boza44 responds:

thanks a lot for the feedback means a lot!

Great use of your voice man! suit the beat perfectly! Another dope track man.

B-RadGfromOV responds:

Thanks dog!

Super cool man! Very colorful melodies tangling around each other in a fancy stew. Very much matches the attached art haha!

The only thing that jumps out at me is that it kind of sounds like the mixing of everything is coming in a bit hot (i'd tinker around with some of the channels volumes/EQ or make sure the master isn't getting compressed too much).

Do you use reference tracks to compare your mixes to? I like to play my beats back to back with some professional stuff just to help dial my mixes in a bit more.

Just intuitions jumping out at me, this might be horrible advice.

Xorberax responds:

Hey that’s good advice. I don’t do that, and pretty much just play by ear. I do aim for a bit of a lofi style, so some of the mixing is intentional.

Absolutely love it man! It's soooo good! knocked it out of the park for sure. Everything's gelling together so well, you're Midas touch! :D

B-RadGfromOV responds:

Thanks man. Got a song cookin for it too 👌

Fuck yeah!

B-RadGfromOV responds:

yeah! 🤘

Hey folks, another lover of music (mainly doing so through rap/singing/beats these days). Been at it for many years off and on and had just caught the bug to make fully-pledged projects as opposed to one-offs.
